On November 5, 2105, Dr. Owen risked his sanity by loading himself and all 10 of us girls up in a 15 passenger van and headed out to Atlanta for a continuing education conference . There is nothing like a 9 hour drive in a big van! There were parts of the drive that felt like a roller coaster ride, not to mention poor Dr. Owen being trapped, literally, with 10 women in a moving vehicle.
The conference was held in Downtown Atlanta. I must say that if you ever think Little Rock traffic is out of hand, drive downtown Atlanta on a Thursday night! It took 40 minutes to get 8 miles….no joke! After we were checked in to the hotel, we decided to make the night better and go eat at The Cheesecake Factory. One word…YUM!
However, the trip was not all play…we did wake up bright and early to attend the conference. We listened to some interesting theories on how to better treat our patients, which was well worth the drive!
In the true spirit of fun that we have in our office, we did have to celebrate our new information with some good old fashion game competition at Dave and Busters! We split the office into teams and had a staff member from D and B’s keep score during multiple events! It was a great time, but even better was when Sarah B beat Dr. Owen in BASKETBALL! I am pretty sure he still hears about it once a day, maybe twice!
